Description
Italic Late 6th cent. B.C..Clay. Diam. 26.4 cm.Attributed to the Rosoni Painter. A shallow dish with a frieze of felines and fowl striding around the interior rim. Center of tondo decorated by concentric circles. Liberal use of added red and incision, with hastily inscribed rosettes in the instercises. On the exterior, a series of tongues around low ring foot. Surface abraded, otherwise intact.Formerly priv. coll. K.A., Riehen, acquired November 1978. Thence by descent in the family.
