Description
The luopan or geomantic compass is a Chinese magnetic compass, also known as a Feng Shui compass. It is used by a Feng Shui practitioner to determine the precise direction of a structure, place or item. An antique loupan feng shui compass of wood, with 14 annotated rings with both black and red writing. We estimate this piece to be well over 100 years old, placing it in the Qing dynasty. This rare and unusual compass measures 7.25 inches across and was part of the permanent display at the Metamora Museum of Oddities, Metamora Indiana.
