A Japanese Satsuma vase, late Meiji/Taisho period, the mouth upon a short neck surrounded by four elephant heads and trunks, on a compressed body painted with diaper above chrysanthemums, phoenix mons and paulownia leaves in raised enamels, supported on a tall circular foot, 32 cm.
