This lot consists of a framed acrylic painting on canvas, done in the studied, Cubist style of Juan Gris (Spanish, 1887-1927). Image depicts a fractalized modern abstraction. Handwritten inscription at lower right reads, "Juan Gris". A distinctive and handsome addition to any collection. Framed measurements approximately 28.75" x 24.75" overall.

Reverse side of canvas features two affixed paper labels. One label reads:

"Eva Menzio. Elena Pron. 10123 Torino. Via Della Rocca 10. Autore: Juan Gris. Data: 1918."

The second label reads as follows:

"Galerie J.C. Bellier. Nom de l'Artiste: Juan Gris. Designation: 1918 exp. Galerie Bellier 1967".

Juan Gris (Spanish, 1887-1927) was a Spanish painter, born in Madrid, who lived and worked in France for most of his adult life. Gris was closely connected to the groundbreaking artistic genre of Analytic Cubism, with his works being among the movement's most distinctive.
