**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. An adorable redware pottery vessel in the form of an endearing round-bottomed baby bird with its head raised and beak open, calling for food from its mama. Note the petite wings protruding from either side, not to mention that nubby tail. A remarkable handbuilt and modeled form of gorgeous redware with some darker areas due to firing conditions and a lovely burnished finish, perfect for any bird watchers out there! Size: 2.3" in diameter x 2.75" H (5.8 cm x 7 cm)
Provenance: private Los Angeles County, California, USA collection, acquired by descent from the owner's father, collection amassed between 1950-1990
