Description
Carol Pinsky - Vintage black and white ink drawing on brown crime toned paper. Signed lower right. Provenance direct from family. Size 12 x 7 1/4". She was in the same class as Leroy Neiman at the Arts Students League in NYC. Neimans earliest work was a painting of Pinsky. She studied under various important artists and photographers such as Walter Quirt, Bridgeman and Berenice Abbott. Her paintings are influenced by De Kooning, Pollack, David Park and Diebenkorn. She is noted for strong linear quality and dynamic masses. Her figurative paintings have been in demand, many in black in white with stark effect while others use color in bold, free, yet subtle ways. Her works are in many collections. She was a bit of an eccentric and called up clients over the years who acquired her work to buy them back !
Condition
Excellent condition aside 1/4" tear at top edge which could be trimmed easily. Would not be seen in frame anyways.
