Description
Egyptian blue-green mold formed faience Ushabti, mummiform with headdress and worn hieroglyphics to lower half, probably 26th Dynasty, Reign of Amasis, 570-527 BC. Later frosted fiberglass stand. 7 1/2" H, with stand, 8 1/4" H. Provenance: The Estates of Olen Bryant and late Vanderbilt University art professor Thomas Brumbaugh, Clarksville/Cottontown, Tennessee.
Condition
Loss to portion of nose and part of 1 finger, small dark spot to hair, other minor nicks and abrasions, fading to glaze pigmentation, wear to hieroglyphic text and some finer details particularly the glaze at lower corner. Light earthen deposits throughout.
