Description
Rare large Hummel, Festival of Harmony with Flute. Molded by Reinhold Unger in 1947 in large size only. This piece is rare because it has a large bird and flowers running up the front of angel's gown. Piece has incised crown and stamped full bee. Hummel measures approx. 10 3/4", TMK-1 and TMK-2, Hum 173. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
