Description
International Hummel, Bulgarian boy dancing. In 1990 Goebel tried to make Internationals again. They made an 810 & 811 and took them to the convent for approval. The convent said "NO" and supposedly returned the samples. In 2002 Dorothy Douse went to Germany and found one sample of each. Douse sold them to Cordes and Steve sold them to us. This is supposed to be one of only two in the world in TM6. Painted by "K" 1990. Hummel measures approx. 5", TMK-6, Hum 811. No cracks, chips, crazing or repairs. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
