Description
Hummel, School Boy. First modeled by Arthur Moeller in 1938. Old name "Little Scholar", "School Days", or "Primer Boy." Large size (82/II). Temporarily withdrawn January 1999. Hummel measures approx. 7 3/4" tall. Hum 82/II, TMK-5. No cracks, chips or repairs. Crazing present. No box. See our other auction lots for more rare large and small M.I. Hummel and Goebel figurines. Provenance: From the estate collection of Donald Deeks (1931-2020) of Venice, Florida, who assembled what is purported to be one of the most important collections of rare Hummel figurines in existence. Blackwell Auctions has been commissioned by his family to sell the entire collection of about 2,000 pieces, many of them either unique or nearly so.
