A Chinese export porcelain famille rose-decorated punch bowl
third quarter 18th Century
With the family crest of Wood of Copmanthorpe.
NOTE: The service from which this bowl comes was photographed in situ in Country Life, July 14 1988, figure 8, it has been suggested the service from which these dishes come was brought back from China by Richard Wood, who was a supercargo in the East India Company and a member of the Council at Canton in 1756 and 1760.
