A nice large and heavy Canton rectangular bowl with deep cobalt exterior and turquoise glazed interior. The molded porcelain bowl has a raised unglazed foot and a glazed base. The cobalt color is deep and rich and stops just at the foot. It is spotted and may have been blown on. The interior is glazed with a turquoise enamel and again it is slightly spotted. The mouth rim shows the base white glaze. The glazes have a somewhat orange peel texture. There is a stamped iron red mark on the base that reads MADEINCHINA with four Chinese characters. MEASUREMENTS 10 “ (25.4 cm) long x 7 3/8” (18.6 cm) wide x 3 ¼” (8.3 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lb 9.4 oz (1170 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, chips, or cracks. There is wear on the exterior and interior but the glazes are still bright and colorful. There are kiln flaws such as black spots and glaze reserve spots. A nice large Chinese bowl with bright colors to add to a décor or a collection. It would look great with a mass of old Chinese blue and white porcelain.
