Ames Civil War Sword with Scabbard. The blade with faint engravings, foliate, 'U.S.', and various insignias are visible; shagreen grip; 'US' to the guard. The base of the blade faintly marked with 'Ames Mfg C. Chicopee Mass'; the scabbard marked 'AMES MFG CO. CHICOPEE MASS'. {Approximate dimensions with scabbard: Condition: Scabbard with surface wear and patina, 1" crack to the bronze finish brass tip. Split to the shagreen wrapped handle, some patina to the metal. Blade is dull, but has very minor wear overall.
