Description

GILT BRONZE & CLOISONNE STYLE INKWELL, EARLY 20TH C, H 7.5", W 7"A gilt bronze inkwell. Having a central candlestick and two hinged ink jars with porcelain inserts, each with hand-painted cloisonne style bodices. The frame has a central recumbent cherub offering flowers. Depth 7". Hardware to the underside dates this piece to the early 20th century.

Condition

The candlestick has minor residue (wax) to the candle cup. One porcelain insert has 1/2" crack (smooth to touch). Verdigris consistent with age. CP
