Description
WW2 Norwegian fighter pilot Per Waaler signed 4 x 6 colour photo WWII 1 Victory. During the 1939 German attack, Waaler was stationed at Jagevingen on Fornebu. The wing, set up with nine Gloster Gladiators , two of which were not operational due to maintenance, had for three weeks cut off German aircraft that violated neutrality. Shortly before 7 o'clock in the morning on April 9, Waaler was one of seven pilots who took off from Fornebu to patrol the airspace around Drobak. There had been a message from an observation post in Gothenburg that eight German planes had passed there on their way to Oslo. Shortly after half past seven, the German planes discovered, and Waaler lay down after a Heinkel He 111 bomber. After firing several shots at the German plane, it began to "shine down towards the sea" [3]without daring to follow to confirm the launch, as airspace began to become congested by German aircraft. Good Condition. All autographs come with a Certificate of Authenticity. We combine postage on multiple winning lots and can ship worldwide. UK postage from £4.99, EU from £6.99, Rest of World from £8.99.
