Katana in Koshirae.(NBTHK Hozon Token)Signature: Mumei(Den Aizu Motooki) (Kiritsuke Mei)Manen Gannen 11 Gatsu 19 Nichi Oite Senjyu Tata Dotanbarai Yamada Yutaka Tamesu Kore.One of the last swords to take a real body cutting test. Explanation Mr. Yamada Yutaka has done cutting test armpit on November 19th 1860 at Senju.Habaki :copper single habaki Blade length :71.515 cm or 28.16 inches.Sori:1.97 cm or 0.776 inches.Mekugi :1 Width at the hamachi:3.1 cm or 1.22 inches.Width at the Kissaki: 2.12 cm or 0.83 inches.Kasane: 0.71cm or 0.28 inches.The weight of the sword 805 grams. Era: Late Edo period. Shape: The blade is rather wide and thick with deep sori and long Kissaaki. Jigane: Itame hada and Masame hada strongly with jinie attach. Hamon :Nie deki suguha with small ashi work. Bo-shi is notare round shape.Special feature: From the Jigane ,Hamon and Kesyo Yasuri, the blade was made around ale Edo period. On the Nakago, cutting test was done. By Yamada Yutaka at Senjyu Manen first year Novenber 19th cutting test was done. And succeeded to cut the part of tata(the top of the body part and the sword reached to Dotanba. Engraved the cutting scene proudly.Koshirae : Saya: Red-brown color.tsuba: On the round iron stub, engraved knaves with silver dots and open work.Menuki: family crest is engraved. Fuchikashira:On the syakudo nanako plate. Ume tree and flower is engraved.From The early stage from early Edo to middle Edo period, Cutting test must engraved by gold inlay but at the end of Edo period, This kind of rule was disappeared and Kiritukemei (just engraved cutting test by curving not used gold inlay) because gloss inlay’s price is very expensive.
