Description

A grouping of two 19th Century sets of books about Rome to include the eight-volume set "The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire" by Edward Gibbon, 1854, in green leather binding; and the seven-volume "Historie des Romains" (History of the Romans) by Victor Duruy, 1879, published in the French language with many color plates, and gilt embossing.

Condition

The Gibbon set has some edge and corner wear and a little damage to the back cover of volume 8. The Duruy set has two volumes of which the cover has or has partially come off. See photos for details.
