Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland (region between Arctic and Atlantic Oceans east of Canadian Arctic Archipelago), Greenlandic Inuit, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely, lengthy, and stylish tobacco hand pipe, finely carved from a rich hardwood with brass caps on the bowl and mouthpiece. The pipe is carved from a single piece of wood and the styling is quite elegant. There is also a circular stopper at the front end of the long main pipe section; the maker most likely drilled through the entire length through this opening. A special example from this indigenous culture of Greenland. Size: 8.5" L x 2.125" H (21.6 cm x 5.4 cm); 3.375" H (8.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Two stable cracks from the circular stopper at front end of the pipe. Otherwise intact and excellent. Wood has developed a warm, rich patina. Brass has developed a warm golden patina as well as areas of bright green patina.
