Description

Large early 20th Century wall hanging painted with gold on silk depicting Krishna and his brother Balarama (at the center). Cowherders at the left with gopis at the right. The pupose of Pichhwais, other than being beautiful artistic portrayals of Krishna, is to narrate tales of Krishna to the illiterate.

Condition

In great overall condition considering its age. Some folding marks can be seen, paint worn off due to age.
