Designed as companion piece to the presentation bag created by Louise MacMichael (Canadian, 1918-2003), chief designer and owner of Lady Mac of Canada, Ltd. (20th Century, Toronto, Canada). Exquisite raised russet and caramel tone floral design to exterior, with green felt interior consisting of additional pocket, and housing clutch purse. Purse has matching raised floral design in light tan with green leather accents that match the interior. Custom clasp lock on bag with British Imperial Crown design and legend "ER II [for Elizabeth Regina II] CORONATION 1953." Provenance: Includes series of 1953/1954 letters and original envelopes received by Mrs. MacMichael from the office of the Mayor of Toronto (Ontario), the office of the Mayor of Granby (Quebec), and the office of the British High Commissioner for Canada acknowledging production and receipt of the original bag by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth (born 1926).
