Description
This stunning woodblock print is from 1855. It features two women and a man with warm blue with orange and black accents and is called Act II (Nidanme), from the series The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers (Chûshingura). Very nicely marked in the lower left. It has a nice matte and simple black frame. Visible image measures approx 9" x 13 1/2", frame approx 15 1/4" x 19 1/2".
Condition
Upper left corner has an approx 1" x 1/4" tear, lower left corner has a tear that has been pushed back down. Under image appears to have dark gray paper under that offers a little camouflaged. Not examined outside of frame.
