Description
Japanese woodblock print, this print appears authentic, not restrike or reproduction. This print was created by Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991). Here is most famous print created by Shiro. "Misty Evening at Shinobazu Pond”, published in 1932, was so popular that it was continually reprinted throughout the 1930's and 1940's. It was published in several different color combinations, including an aizuri-e (blue) version. Print has Kasamatsu red seal. Dated Showa 7 (1932) (this one printed c.1946-1948) and inscribed in kanji on left margin. Bears very early Watanabe RED 6mm seal Size 14 7/8 "x 10 1/8".
Condition
Professionally framed and matted, no damage seen, age toning as expected in very good overall condition.
