Description
1923 Vintage Photograph; Depiction of stunt pilot / sky writer Derik Shepperson standing in front of a bi-wing airplane, smoking a cigarette. Research reveals that in July of 1923 Derik Shepperson in Wichita did an advertisement demonstration of skywriting. He spelled out the words, "Lucky Strike" for the American Tobacco Company. Written identification on the backboard (from previous framing) found with this image reads; "Derik Shepperson 1923".
Exterior dimensions are approximately: 9" x 7".
Condition: typical light soiling and fading with occasional scuffs and edge wear.
