Description
Circa 1810 English Derby factory porcelain topographical cache pot and stand.
The beautiful and detailed hand painted scene is labeled in script "Near Makeny Derbyshire".
The scene is surrounded by an elaborately scrolled gilt frame. Two wonderful satyr handles are also gilded. Both the cache pot and the stand have gilt borders.
Both cache pot and stand are marked with the Derby crown over D mark. The marks are different, and the cache pot is a bit loose in the stand, so it is possible that the cache pot and stand are a "marriage."
Overall excellent condition. There is some minor wear to the gilt, particularly on the handles, and there is a small glaze hairline coming down from the gilt rim in the back which does not go through to the inside. Some staining on the inside.
Original dealer tag on the bottom.
Including the stand, measures 5 1/8" tall.
Please note that the shipping charge listed is for the U.S. 48 States only, for shipping charges elsewhere please inquire.
