Description

Standard Mark V Dive Knife w/ Loop

This is a nice example of the famed United States Navy standard dive knife. This model was used in conjunction with the Mark V diving helmet and other equipment during most of the 20th Century. This example features the Morse Diving Equipment Co. Inc stamp on the brass scabbard. The stamping appears to be struck lightly or shallow, as Boston can not be made out in front of MASS U.S.A. There are some minor signs of use on the brass scabbard. The knife is in good overall condition with minor signs of age to both sides of the blade. The handle does have a Vince style brass loop installed. The loop appears to be newer and of very good quality. The wood handle is a bit loose. Overall, nice unique USN Mark V knife for display purposes.
