Benny Carter shaming the Klan. Benny did not support racism and he painted about how he did not agree. Living in Madison where the Klan was active in the 1970s Benny chose to not be apart of the racist movements. He painted about his disgust as his outlet. in this painting his asks Jesus to "forgive them for they are rednecks"
