A French Gilt-Bronze and Patinated Metal Automaton Quarter Deck Clock
Guilmet, Paris, late 19th century
Movement by Japy Frères; the mariner rocking with ship wheel as part of compound pendulum; the backplate with "MEDAILLE D'OR/GLT/Bte GDG/PARIS" and "JAPY FRERES & CIE Gde MEB O'HONNEUR" and stamped inventory number 1380.
H: 11 1/2, W: 11 1/2, D: 8 1/2 in.

Not tested for functionality, Freeman's does not test or guarantee timekeeping ability. Without winding keys. Frequent chips and scratches to marble base. Scratches, wear, discoloration and some polish residue present to bronze and metal. Ladder on ship deck is missing a wrung.
