Description
A black cotton cap with green and gray cotton trim and metal decorations. In the front are two rows of 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) tall metal Buddha figures – three on the top row and five on the bottom. Below the Buddha’s in the front is a row of 6 convex circles. Each side has two discs with dangling fish. Once side has and a bell. The top surface of the hat has a fabric strip embroidery design. Small red fabric strips adorn the top. There is also a fabric tie at the back. The hat is small sized and may have been for a child. The inside of the cap is light colored and shows stitching.
MEASUREMENTS
Approximately 6” (15.2 cm) diameter. 4” (10.2 cm) tall. Weighs 2.2 oz (60 g)
CONDITION
The hat is soiled. The metal adornments show oxidization. The metal strip on the right side of the row of convex balls has broken off. There is only a bell on the one side. Originally, there may have been two, one for each side. There are no rips, tears or fraying.
An interesting old work of fabric art. It will be a great addition to a collection or will add to a décor.
