This lot consists of a mixed media collaboration piece on paper, featuring work by realistic landscape painter George Knaus (American, 1928-2015) and mixed media artist Barbara Jordan (American, 1977- ).

One side of the paper features a black-and-white etching. A circle of lawn chairs shows brightly against a busy, textured grass background. "George Knaus" is signed at lower left corner.

On the reverse side of the Knaus print is a finely detailed ink and photograph composition, which depicts a woman laying on her back and holding a large blue orb. This piece has been rendered by Barbara Jordan, and features a graphite inscription at lower left which reads "TP2". Overall unframed piece measures 15" x 20.75" / Image sight measures approximately 11.75" x 17.5"

George Knaus (1928-2015) was an observational master. His landscapes are replete with the exploration of both space and composition; Knaus was equally enamored with the various media he employed as he was with the final product. George Knaus studied Painting and Printmaking at the University of Hartford, Hartford Art School. He was a teaching artist in Falls River, Connecticut and Kent, Connecticut. George Knaus lived and painted in Gardiner, New York.

Barbara Ann Jordan (1977 - ) is an American artist based in Ithaca, New York. Her style is defined by its undulating elegance and natural inspiration, often hearkening to the beauty of the female form. Jordan is a working artist who freely explores mediums from sculpture to painting to photography.
