This lot consists of a fine art print on paper, rendered in the modern style of Fauvist painter Henri Matisse (French, 1869-1954). Image depicts a female figure in vibrant swathes of blue. This elegant piece is a perfect example of the bold style for which Matisse is so well known. Lower left corner of print features the name "Matisse". There's a graphite inscription below the print. Unframed dimensions approximately 11.25" x 8.5".

Henri Matisse (French, 1869 - 1954) was an artist known for both his fluid use of colour and his original draughtsmanship. He was an illustrator, printmaker, and sculptor, but is known primarily as a painter. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Pablo Picasso, as one of the artists who best helped to define the revolutionary developments in the visual arts throughout the opening decades of the twentieth century.
