Chinese black Ting conical porcelain bowl, having wide flaring sides tapered down to a low footed base. Covered allover with a lustrous black glaze with russet tinge at the rim, the foot ring being unglazed revealingthe white buff body. Sits approx. 3.37" (8.55cm) high and measures approx. 8.75" (22.2cm) in diameter. Provenance: Professor Wu Jilu's Chinese porcelain collection of Sung & Ming Dynasty ceramics. Prof Wu Jiluwas a professor in Chinese Literature, and an avid collector of Chinese porcelain antiques, esp. those with strong Sung Dynasty style & flavor. He had a collection of over 100 items from China’s Sung, Yuan, Ming andQing Dynasties. He had bought most of those collections from various antiques shops and small auction houses across the world over the past 25 years. Some his antique collections were auctioned by major auctionhouses, such as Sotheby’s and China’s Guardian Auction, Hong Kong.
