Ink, wash and gouache on paper, 1895, signed 'Frederick Remington' lower right, with label from Barclay Fine Art, NY.
13 1/2 x 16 in. (sheet), 23 1/4 x 26 in. (frame).
Note: This drawing was published in the June 1895 issue of The Cosmopolitan (page 187) as one of five illustrations for the story by Dan De Quille titled An Indian Story of the Sierra Madre. As per the label on the reverse, Peter Hassrick, Director of the Buffalo Bill Memorial Association in Cody, Wyoming authenticated the drawing on July 14, 1986 (#001053).
