Second half 18th century, plum pudding mahogany, mahogany, and oak secondary. Case has solid ends, one over two over two dovetailed drawers and bracket feet. Slant front has book rest, interior with tooledgreen leather writing surface, prospect door, stepped drawers and pigeon holes. Refinished, minor age splits. 33" writing height, 43.5"h. 40"w. 22.5"d.

3/17/21 Veneer loss to right front foot, diagonal repair at left hinge, split across hinge rail on slant front is shrinkage at a glue line ending in a split on the left end. Pieced repair at edge of slant lid. Reconstructed base using some old parts. Three glue blocks missing.
