Description
(lot of 6) Chinese silk panels, comprising five sheets of embroidered garment panels, woven in gilt wire threads, depicting auspicious characters and symbols set on a blue diaper ground, and a pouch decorated with four bats. Longest 10.25"l. Provenance: Charlotte Hill Grant. She lived in Peking from 1922-1937. The majority of her textile collection was donated to the Denver Art Museum, and was featured in the "Threads of Heaven" exhibit which ran from October 2011-January 2012.
