Obituary note from Los Angeles Times, May 29, 1993: George Smith (Woogie) Watchetaker, 77, a Comanche elder who was a champion dancer and an artist. Knighted by England€™s Queen Elizabeth II after a command performance, Watchetaker was a five-time national dance champion and a five-time world champion dancer. He was considered one of the outstanding visual artists in southwestern Oklahoma.
