Antique Italian Savonrola chair or commonly referred to as the "Rola" chair. These chairs make excellent accent pieces with their carved backrest and shaped stretchers. Italian made in the 1920's. This scissor chair was named after the charismatic Dominican monk Girolamo Savonarola. Hand-carved chair with the scissor-like principle that allowed it to be folded and easily moved. The chair is in good, vintage condition with some wear due to age and use. Is approx 24" x 20". 34".
