Description
ROLEX Oyster Perpetual Date "Milgauss" Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, ref. 116400 nº M972517 for men with steel case and bracelet.
Black dial with luminescent numbering, tritium-treated hands and a second hand in the center in orange with the shape of a ray. Oyster case and bracelet, Oysterclasp closure with EasylinK. Resistance to magnetic fields. Sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 100 m. deep. Automatic movement. Perfect state of conservation.
Reissue of the watches with reference 1019 that were manufactured only in steel and between the years 1966 - 1990 and was baptized as Milgauss for the combination of Thousand (per thousand) and Gauss (unit of measurement of magnetism).
The normal movement of a watch can withstand up to 70-80 Gauss of magnetism, but exceeding that limit can compromise its performance; Rolex, using as a base its case, bezel and Oyster dial, managed to create a watch, the Milgauss, capable of brilliantly overcoming the challenge while maintaining its precision even in conditions considered extreme such as 1000 gauss magnetic fields.
Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855): German astronomer, mathematician and physicist, author of important studies on celestial mechanics, magnetism, electromagnetism and optics. His surname has given its name to the magnetic induction unit of measurement, represented by the letter g in the C.G.S.
