Description:
12pp. Original wrappers.
Possibly the only known copy of the first issue of a planned periodical from a Club which claimed to have "a membership of Negro Youth all over America." Several short essays, including "Every one can learn to write" and "An Approach to Aesthetic Appreciation." Scarce. Not in Blockson and the Danky-Hady bibliography of Black periodicals lists only one issue, published by a Negro Teachers Forum in Brooklyn (not mentioned in the periodical). A single copy is reportedly at Howard University, although there is no listing in the institution's current library catalog.
Condition
Staples rusted, moderate darkening and soiling; good.
