Description
John Cleese (b.1939) English actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer. He achieved success at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as a scriptwriter and performer on The Frost Report. In the late 1960s, he cofounded Monty Python, the comedy troupe responsible for the sketch show Monty Python's Flying Circus and subsequent films. In the mid1970s, Cleese and his first wife, Connie Booth, cowrote the sitcom Fawlty Towers and he starred in it as Basil Fawlty. His other films include A Fish called Wanda (1989), Time Bandits (1981), two James Bond films, two Harry Potter films and the last three Shrek films. A dedicated signature on the reverse of a Sheekey's Restaurant Eat Oysters Love Longer colour postcard, signature obtained at the Sheekey's oyster festival in 1981, approximately 6.75 inches x 4.75 inches.
