Description
***Auction Highlight*** 1890-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms66+ By SEGS. Superb luster, virtually mark free surfaces, with a pristine cheek, attractive light gold and russet toning highlight this magnificent example of the 1890-s, far and away the finest example we have ever brought to auction. A sealed Mint bag of Morgan silver dollars contained 1,000 coins, from which perhaps 10 to 20 Gem-quality coins might be obtained. Since the majority of bags went into distribution or storage, few bags were actually cherrypicked for pristine examples. Despite more than 8.2 million pieces struck in 1890 at the San Francisco Mint, most Uncirculated examples that survive are bagmarked and fail to achieve even the MS64 or MS65 levels. This extraordinary MS66+ example is tiede for 9th finest known, against all examples certified by SEGS, NGC and PCGS combined. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
