Lloyd M. “Pete” Bucher (1927-2004) Naval officer. Bucher was the commanding officer of the USS Pueblo a United States Navy environmental research intelligence gathering ship that was monitoring communist activities in international waters off the coast of North Korea. In January1968, the ship was attacked by North Korean torpedo, killing one crewmember and capturing rest of the 82 crewmembers, including Commander Bucher. He and his men were beaten and tortured both psychologically and physically for 11 months.8 ½” x 11” autograph letter signed, “Pete,” June 27, 1993, to “Dear Arn.” “…The stationery…is a copy…printed after our release from captivity. The logo is the original I selected…when Pueblo was undergoing conversion in Bremerton Naval Ship Yard…” Includes a color brochure of Bucher’s artwork.
