Lloyd M. “Pete” Bucher (1927-2004) Naval officer. Bucher was the commanding officer of the USS Pueblo a United States Navy environmental research intelligence gathering ship that was monitoring communist activities in international waters off the coast of North Korea. In January1968, the ship was attacked by North Korean torpedo, killing one crewmember and capturing rest of the 82 crewmembers, including Commander Bucher.
