Item Details

Description

Two (2) Tramp folk art boxes, parquetry box nested inside of a "Crown of Thorns" outer box. Inner box with parquetry lid having star and diamond decoration, outer box with all over "Crown of Thorns" decoration and a graduated tiered lid. Inner box - 4 1/2" H x 19 3/4" W x 9 1/2" D. Outer box - 13" H x 23" W x 13" D. Early 20th century. Provenance: Private Knoxville, TN collection. (Additional high-resolution photos are available at www.caseantiques.com.)

Condition

Outer box has a few scattered broken prongs, primarly to the base, corners, and lower sides and losses to slats on the base. Inner box overall good condition.
