Iowa artists record final day of barn destroyed by tornado

Formerly known as the Midway Stock Farm Barn, the Galloway barn was built by William A. Barker around 1886. It gained historical significance when his son Webb installed equipment made by the Louden Machinery Co. of Fairfield, Iowa, thus converting it to a dairy operation. KEOSAUQUA, Iowa (AP) – As the old cliche goes, timing is everything. It’s just not always the greatest thing.

No one can say whether it was fate, divine intervention or just weird luck that demolished the Galloway barn near the Van Buren County Fairgrounds July 19, but the timing couldn’t have been more surreal.
