Also, a rare Buffalo Brand Gasoline, Oils & Greases embossed tin sign, 60 inches by 36 inches, in 7.5+ condition, climbed to $43,050; and a Bengal Gasoline (“Pep and Power”) leaping tiger porcelain sign, 66 inches by 36 inches, 8.9+, fetched $40,590.

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – A pair of large gilded torchiere lamps has made a journey thousands of miles to its new home in Ireland. Fit for a palace, the French Art Nouveau-style lamps sold at The Benefit Shop Foundation Inc. auction Oct. 23 for $3,520 to a LiveAuctioneers bidder.

As visitors, we often tend to concentrate on what is put in front of us, thus passing by many other items of interest.

In less than 20 years, the permanent collection of the National Hispanic Cultural Center has steadily grown – all without a big acquisitions budget.

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) – His head bent down, chin resting on one hand, a furrowed brow and pressed lips: The Thinker, one of the most famous sculptures of all time, has found a new home at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The bronze sculpture, on loan for a year from the Rodin Museum in Paris, is one of the original castings made by Auguste Rodin, sometime between 1881 and 1882.
