Gérard Garouste retrospective opens in New Delhi

NEW DELHI, India – From Jan. 28 to March 29, a major retrospective of Gérard Garouste’s work will be held at the National Gallery of Modern Art. The survey exhibition will feature around 60 paintings covering 40 years of artistic creation, from 1980 to 2019. It is the biggest exhibition of the French artist’s work outside Europe.

Picasso’s work on paper at London museum through April 13

LONDON – An exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art brings together more than 300 works on paper by Pablo Picasso spanning the artist’s 80-year career. The show opened Jan. 25 and runs through April 13.

NEW YORK – Niki de Saint-Phalle (1930-2002), a French-American who was born Catherine Marie-Agnès Fal de Saint-Phalle, battled her inner demons through her art. After following a golden path – becoming a top fashion model, marrying, then starting a family, she suffered a nervous breakdown. Art, expressing deep, fearless aggression, became her only solace.
