BOSTON, Mass. – A Beatles-signed show program sold for $30,250 in a recently completed sale conducted by RR Auction. The vintage red program, printed with the words ‘The Beatles Show,’ was offered at performances held at the Odeon Cinema in Southport, England, from August 26-31, 1963. The program is also signed inside by four members of Gerry and the Pacemakers: Gerry Marsden, Freddie Marsden, Les Chadwick, and Les Maguire.

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Allen Memorial Art Museum’s gallery of 17th- and 18th-century European art has been reimagined to reveal global stories of encounter and exchange. Central to the new installation is a significant acquisition: a portrait of the Ethiopian traveler Zaga Christ by the Italian artist Giovanna Garzoni. Made in 1635, when the two met at the court of the Duke of Savoy in Turin, Italy, Portrait of Zaga Christ is the earliest known European portrait miniature to depict a Black sitter.

NEW YORK — The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today an endowment in support of its Department of Live Arts, made possible by a generous grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). With this gift of $1 million, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Live Arts Endowment will provide funds for the Museum’s MetLiveArts program in perpetuity, enabling it to continue presenting high-impact productions of opera, music and dance inspired by the Museum’s collection, while also engaging with both emerging and acclaimed artists from diverse backgrounds.
