Capo Auction wraps up 7th year on a high note

NEW YORK – Capo Auction Fine Art and Antiques just celebrated their seven-year anniversary with their most successful auction of the last two years in November and continued that momentum at their year-end auction on Dec. 16 with a varied selection of decorative items taking the lead. Absentee and Internet live bidding was available through LiveAuctioneers.

A bronze sculpture titled Aspiration Duo (above) by Tolla Inbar (German/Israeli, born 1958) sold for $6,875. The work was signed “Tolla” and dated “99.”

Two Zuber wallpaper panels of Orientalist scenes (below) went for $6,000.

A pair of 33-inch-tall bronze candelabra from the 19th century having elaborate scroll and acanthus leaf decoration and with figures and dolphins sold for $2,625.

Capo Auction featured two large Gorham sterling silver flatware services, both in the Crown Baroque pattern. Each of the sets sold for $4,062.

A small Faberge silver rabbit figure sold for $1,125 and a 16-inch Tiffany Favrile glass vase numbered 5650 on the bottom brought $1,250.

Furniture highlights included a Danish Modern desk that sold for $5,312 and a Chinese Huanghuali low table (below) that made $4,687.
