NEW YORK – On Wednesday, August 31, starting at 5 pm Eastern time, Jasper52 will conduct a sale of Classic to Modern Jewelry and Stones. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The glittering array of 299 lots includes impressive GIA-certified natural loose stones such as a 10.16-carat square cut vivid Colombian emerald and a 62.60-carat cushion cut blue tanzanite. Necklaces entirely strung with Akoya pearls; amethyst beads; and jade beads, respectively, are also among the choices.

Also on offer is a vintage 18K gold pin in the form of nesting birds that flock near two eggs fashioned from pieces of natural turquoise that together weigh 20 carats. Equally stunning is a pendant brooch centered on a GIA-certified natural 69.37-carat aquamarine placed among radiating petals studded with eight carats of diamonds. An 18K gold Art Deco-style dragonfly-form brooch decorated with black star gems, natural cultured pearls and two cabochon rubies for the eyes also demands mention.

Of course, a selection of rings appears in the August 31 sale, among them a natural bright pink tourmaline solitaire set in 14K white gold; a Victorian natural pink cushion cut Kunzite solitaire of 14.60 carats, set in 14K gold; an emerald-cut 9.39-carat natural amethyst in a setting of diamonds and 14K gold; a GIA-certified natural 5.12-carat emerald with an emerald cut, ringed by diamonds and set in 14K gold; and a GIA-certified 18.53-carat natural peridot, also with an emerald cut and complemented by diamonds and 14K white gold.

The highlights will have bidders seeing red – ruby red, that is. First is a pair of 18K white gold ruby and diamond dangle earrings boasting a total of 28.80 carats of natural rubies, with 6.80 carats being round brilliant cuts and the remaining 22 carats as smaller bead set rubies. The two diamonds in the lower, dangling parts of the earrings are GIA-certified, and more diamonds appear throughout. The earrings measure 3.5in long and are estimated at $42,000-$50,000.

Another ruby-graced charmer is a starburst-form 14K white gold pendant and necklace with a large cultured pearl at its center and three carats’ worth of natural red rubies dotting the ends of its rays. It also contains about 5.50 carats of diamonds. The 16in necklace is estimated at $4,000-$5,000.

The final highlight is a stunning ring that showcases a GIA-certified 3.08-carat natural cushion brilliant cut ruby of a purple-red hue, surrounded by 18K gold rays speckled with 2.00 carats of baguette cut diamonds. The size 5 ring, which can be resized, carries an estimate of $24,000-$29,000.
