MT. CRAWFORD, Va. – Early American Pattern Glass is the focus of Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates’ three-day auction event Sept. 24-26. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide absentee and Internet live bidding for the final day of the sale.
The auction featuring the collections of the late Mildred and Devero Martin of Franklinton, N.C., and Kent and Mary Stevens of Winchester Va., as well as rarities from the Dr. Larry McCallister collection of Muncie, Ind., and a major Pittsburgh, Pa., collection. The sale starts Thursday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. with an uncatalogued session of over 3,500 pieces of EAPG to be sold by table and box lots.
The 1170-lot cataloged session of the event will begin on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 9:30 a.m. Featured will be colored Sandwich glass, rare pressed Lacy, early cut and blown three-mold, many Overshot articles including rare colored pieces and examples with applied snakes, flint EAPG including rare Horn of Plenty and colored pieces, non-flint EAPG including more than 1,000 pieces of ruby stained, 500-plus pieces of amber and other stained/decorated, 600-plus pieces of Vaseline, 400-plus pieces of other colored glass, 45 pieces of U.S. Coin (most from the late Tim Timmerman’s collection), rare animal and historical, honey dishes, table and water sets.
A special regional meeting of the Early American Pattern Glass Society will be held in conjunction with the auction, including lectures on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Evans gallery. Members may participate in a variety of tickets and are entitled to discounted motels rates in nearby Harrisonburg, Va.
