CHICAGO – On Sunday, June 18, starting at noon Central time, Rivich Auction will present an outstanding single-owner collection of professional racing bicycles, parts and accessories. This sale is composed of the most desirable brands and team bikes in the road racing world. Featured lots include a custom Alberto Masi bicycle, vintage new old stock Campagnolo parts, vintage racing team jerseys and an Univega Boralyn downhill bicycle. Absentee and Internet live bidding will be available through LiveAuctioneers.

The aforementioned original Alberto Masi racing bicycle boasts a bicycle frame custom-made by Masi inside the Velodrome Vigorelli in Milan, Italy. It features a black and yellow modernist frame paired with Bontrager carbon fiber handlebars, Mavic Comete and FiR Carbon rims, and record Campagnolo brake calipers. This racing bicycle was rarely used, taking the track only once or twice since its creation, and carries an estimate of $8,000-$12,000.

Lot 164 showcases the first of four collections of bicycle racing jerseys. Included in this lot are American-, Italian- and Swiss-made team racing jerseys and sets. These jerseys include sponsorships from brands such as Campagnolo, Rock Shox and Tioga, among others. All pieces in this lot were used as team racing jerseys from the late 1980s to the late 1990s, and it bears a modest collective estimate of $200-$400.

A collection of vintage Campagnolo cycling brake sets and a brake line highlights the excellence of the Campagnolo company. In its more than 90-year existence, Campagnolo has made a name for itself in the cycling world as the technical leader in bikes and bike parts. Estimated at $200-$400, this lot includes a new old stock Athena brake set, two Campagnolo Cambio Nuovo Record derailleurs and authentic Campagnolo leather toe straps.

One of the most sought-after bikes in the racing world is the Univega Boralyn downhill road racing bicycle. Released in the 1990s, the Univega bike frame offered in the June 18 sale was created with beryllium, a metal typically used in the aerospace industry due to its strength and lightweight features. Also used just a handful of times, this bike is in very good condition and includes a Syncros seatpost, Ibis Anotech titanium handlebars, Time carbon pedals and Mavic front and back rims. This bike has an estimate of $1,000-$2,000.
